About CERDS
Chaitanya Educational and Rural Development Society
(CERDS) is a Non-governmental, Non-profit, Secular, Social Service Organisation
committed to promote Sustainable and Self-reliant rural communities.
CERDS was established in 1996 by a group of rural
natives and registered as Society under Indian Societies Registration Act XXI of
1860. It was affiliated to Credibility Alliance, GiveIndia and GuideStarIndia,
which are an initiative of voluntary organizations in India, to enhance
accountability, transparency and good governance within the voluntary sector.
CERDS works to uplift the status of Women, Children, Disabled,
Farmers, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Artisans and Other
discriminated people of rural communities and improve their socio-economic and
health conditions by proper mobilization of local resources with community
participation.
At present, CERDS is working in 50 villages of
drought-prone and coastal parts of
Prakasam and Guntur Districts in Andhra Pradesh, India.
